Challenge #38 on CAS on Sunday is to make a sympathy card. I wanted a watercolour effect for my card so I used watercolour card and distress ink to create a very simple card.

Materials used:-
Flower stamp - Penny Black Daisy Fields
Sentiment - Stampin Up
Distress ink - peacock feathers; some watercolour paint for the leaves

Thank you for visiting my blog - please pop over to CAS on Sunday to see what the other participants have created.

Singin' in the rain!

The theme at week 181 at Less is More is "Singin' in the rain" - this can be interpreted any way you choose. I am on holiday at the moment so have very limited supplies. In fact, I had to borrow the stamps from my sister! The end result is a very Clean and Simple card.

Materials used:-
Umbrella stamp and sentiment from a Clear Impressions set which was free with Creative Stamping magazine
Music notes - from stash
Spectrum Noir colouring pencils, Memento black ink and Peacock feathers distress ink

Thank you for visiting my blog - please pop over to Less is More and see how this theme inspired participants.

Christmas in July!

There are lots of challenges for July at 52 Christmas Card Throwdown blog. I decided to follow the sketch challenge and made a very CAS card. I added some stitching and some gems for added interest.

Materials used:-
Tree stamp - Chocolate Baroque Christmas Flourish set
Sentiment - Elusive Images (now Chocolate Baroque)
Ink - StazOn Forest Green

Thank you for visiting my blog - I hope you are inspired to start making your Christmas cards early!

Adapt a fingerprint!

Week 180 One Layer Card challenge at Less is More is entitled "adapt a fingerprint".  I found this difficult - usually I don't want any fingerprints on my cards! I decided to use a tree stamp and add fingerprint leaves using my little finger and distress inks. I clear embossed the stamping so that it didn't smudge when I added the distress ink.

Materials used:-
Tree and bird stamps - Marion Emberson Designs "build a tree" set
Sentiment - Marion Emberson Designs "birds and trees"
Distress inks - peeled paint, shabby shutters and crushed olive
Clear embossing powder

Thank you for visiting my blog and for leaving comments - I really appreciate these. Do pop over to LIM to see what fantastic cards have been created by the participants.

Nature card

This week's challenge on AAA cards is a sketch game to follow a window block pattern.  I love the simplicity of this design but do have difficulty in cutting out the pieces and mounting them accurately!

Materials used:-
Stamps - Darkroom Door Garden Inchies
Sentiment - from Stampin Up "Just Believe" set
Inks - Archival sepia and Colorbox moss green and black

Thinking of you

When I was blog hopping the other day I came across AAA cards blog which appealed to me as the emphasis is on CAS cards.  I love the CAS style but have discovered that a simple look can actually be difficult to achieve!

Game #10 on AAA cards is PLAY with watercolour techniques.

I embossed the image on my card with white embossing powder and the used distress inks to watercolour the image. I mounted the panel on dimensional foam.

Materials used:-
Stamps - image and sentiment by Woodware
Distress inks - various

Thank you for visiting my blog - I hope you will pop over to AAA cards and see what the other participants created.

Turquoise

I am entering this card in the following challenges:-
Keep it Simple #43 - Turquoise
Addicted to CAS #42 - Code word SKY

To make the card, I clear embossed the snowflakes and then inked the card before ironing off the embossing to give a nice smooth background to do more stamping.  Finally I added the die cut snowflakes and mounted the panel on a glittered card.

Materials used:-
Uniko Studio Stunning Snowflake set - snowflakes and sentiment
Snowflake dies - Uniko Studio and Marianne Design Creatables "Swedish Ice Star"
Distress inks - tumbled glass and broken china

Thank you for visiting my blog - perhaps this card will inspire you to start making your Christmas cards early!

Earth Tones

The colour challenge for week 179 at Less is More is   Earth Tones.   I made a very simple card using the Kaleidocolor rainbow dye inkpad which has lots of earth tones. I thought the card looked quite bare so I inked the edges lightly with some distress ink, added machine stitching and some glitter stickles to the seed heads. I am feeling quite pleased with myself as the stamp and the inkpad both came from my NBUS (Never Before Used Schtuff)!

Materials used:-
Woodware Grasses stamp
Kaleidocolor - Cappuccino Delight
Distress ink - Antique linen
Ranger Stickles - copper
